WSYAA is planning our First Annual Westside Days Spring Carnival set for May 3 at the Westside Middle School Fields. All Athletic Teams will be responsible for organizing and operating a booth. In addition all Team and individual Photos will be taken on this day, as well. Times have been reserved for your team and this schedule will be posted on the WSYAA Website. This will be a fun Family Outing with plenty of fun family activities, team activities, and individual awards. We are planning a number of booths and competitive activities such as a Home Run Derby contest for each age group with awards for winners, a Speed Pitch Radar Gun intended to find the next Nolan Ryan, and Pitch Accuracy Contests designed to identify the most accurate throwers we have at Westside. There will be many other fun activities, and we will add these activities to the WSYAA Website as we find volunteers to staff the activities. The Westside Spring Carnival will b e our largest fundraising event of the year and all proceeds will go toward the purchase of equipment and lighting for the new Friendship and Westside Elementary Baseball Fields. (Currently with the limited number of fields, most Westside teams are limited to two practices per week due to Sunset; whereas other Whitfield community teams get 3-4 weekly practices.) This will be our fundraiser for 2008. All unsold tickets/money need to be turned back in by Monday (April 21st) so that we can get an estimate on how many plates to order. Plates will also be available the day of the event. Remember, your team needs to pick a booth to operate May 3rd. Below is a list of booths that are still available. Please let your project manager for your sport know which booth you pick, so we don’t have more than one team expecting to operate the same booth.
I suggest that you ask the parents to sign up for a 30 minute time slot and make sure that they know they are signing up themselves plus an additional adult. Booths still available (see other suggested booths) · BLOWUPS · BASKETBALL TOSS · ANY OTHER GAMES THAT YOU MAY THINK OF YOU WOULD LIKE TO OPERATE Thanks, Steven Nealey If you would like to volunteer to develop, operate, or design a booth (including food vendors) please email us at vendors@wsyaa.com
