WSYAA Board of Directors

The responsibility of serving on the WSYAA Board is one of the most rewarding, yet lowest paying jobs anyone could possibly imagine.  The Board is comprised entirely of unpaid volunteers and the amount of hours dedicated to the task of running the largest Youth Athletic Association in Whitfield County is unbelievable.

Each of these volunteers double as full-time employees, mothers, fathers, and church members in their "spare" time, when they are not running the affairs of WSYAA.  Each volunteer logs hundreds of hours in community service that never stops; when one sport ends, another begins within days.

With any "all" volunteer organization, hundreds may receive benefit based on the efforts of a select few.  We challenge every parent to contribute "something" this year.  The greater the contribution the better the experience your child will have in youth sports.  WSYAA IS NOT A COUNTY GOVERNMENT RUN ORGANIZATION.  It is a Westside community funded and controlled non-profit organization.

Your input can be as small as researching/shopping prices or choosing uniforms for your team, or getting out on the field with the coach and helping shag missed balls, so the players can keep learning.  You can create and print practice and game schedules or even take photos for your teams web page.  However, the more you get actively involved, the more your child will notice.  Most parents find that the more they become actively involved, the more the enjoy the experience.  However, many parents are afraid to ask and when they ask their coach and s/he has nothing immediately for them to do they become discouraged.--Pack a water cooler with ice and bring cups.
